The F. Scaduto Classical High School, along with the leading organization Idrisi Cultura e Sviluppo ETS, successfully delivered the first series of Italian workshops planned in our Erasmus+ KA2 Project “Elpis”, whose aim is to enhance arts’ accessibility and educators’ competences in the field of creativity and social arts (project code: 2022-1-IT02-KA220-ADU-000086370).
The first series of workshops, developed by F. Scaduto Classical High School and Idrisi, had the goal to demonstrate that artistic languages are fundamental for promoting participation, sociality and civic-political awareness, especially in educational settings.
As part of the activities aimed at promoting the theatrical culture among young adults and educators, the two organizations organized two appointments with professional actors who belong to the Sicilian artistic framework.
The first meeting was held on 12 april 2023, an artist talk with the actress and playwright Patrizia D’Antona, invited and involved in Elpis by Idrisi Cultura e Sviluppo ETS. During this first meeting, Mrs. D’Antona introduced several notions related to performative arts’ theory, involving young adults in a brief performance, planned for the 5th of May 2023, as part of the programme for “Notte del Liceo Classico”, a broad National event promoted by the Italian Ministry of Education.
Mrs D’Antona had another meeting with the aforementioned target group, a proper rehearsal, focused on folk Sicilian culture and literature, functional to the performance planned for the 5th of May.
Another artist talk and meeting, on 27 april, involved Mr. Paride Cicirello, a young actor and artist from Palermo, involved as well in the series of laboratories and in the event of the 5th of May.
This second set of meetings have been more focused on psycho-physical training and theatrical improvisation.
These two weeks of creative activities and non formal educational approaches introduced the work package planned in the E+ Project “Elpis” named “Guidelines and Theatrical Production: Performances and non formal approaches to foster arts’ accessibility”, coordinated by Idrisi Cultura e Sviluppo ETS, involving the F. Scaduto Classical High School along with Pionirski dom (SI) and The Rijeka Youth Theatre (HR).
