Visiting the United Kingdom is always a fantastic experience and for this reason I would like to tell you about my Scottish Holiday!

I arrived in Scotland on the 17th of July and I stayed there for two weeks.

As soon as I arrived, I visited my College Queen Margaret University, in Musselburgh, a small town near Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.

On the second day I went to Alnwick Castle, a really famous castle in England,( and not only! )  near the border with Scotland. Some scenes, in-fact,  from the Harry Potter films were shot there!

The following day I started my English lessons in QMU.

The lessons , of course, were not like ours because they were really interactive and noisy. I must admit they were more  enjoyable!

I went on many interesting excursions and I visited a lot of new and amazing places. The northern landscape was magnificent and so different from the southern Sicilian.

In Edinburgh I saw the Childhood Museum, a museum dedicated to toys, some of which were very old. After that I went to the Castle, where the Jewels of the Crown of Scotland are kept. At the end I visited the Old Town, the Royal Botanic Garden and the Scott Monument, a monument in the city center of Edinburgh dedicated to their writer, Sir Walter Scott.

Glasgow is another beautiful Scottish city,I  also saw Loch Lomond, the biggest lake of the UK (Loch is a Gaelic word which means lake). However, we didn’t go to Loch Ness, and I wonder why!

I flew back to Italy on the 31st of July.

It was incredible and I had a great time. I think I will never forget my Scottish Holiday!
